The Visual Factory - ‘It’s Not a Dream Anymore...’

Without any doubt visual instructions bridge language and understanding barriers, reduce assembly errors, and increase productivity and quality. However, the issue so far was: How to create visual instructions fast and efficiently? How to integrate change and its impact? And finally, how to distribute this information without costly personnel efforts?

CellFusion’s solutions in rapid design of visualization-based work instructions, so-called E-OMS (Electronic Operational Method Sheets) build the basis for development and instant distribution. With Manufacturing Engineering applications your personnel can develop visual instructions within just a few minutes, leveraging latest technology, and distributing all information electronically to shop floor operations.

'the dream comes true...'

These visual instructions are the basis to guide assembly workers through assembly and quality assurance processes. Introducing electronic visual instructions to manufacturing operations opens the door to a new dimension of integration and efficiency. When beginning the 'Value Stream Technology' development, visual instructions were the center of information flow already. However, the application suite has evolved to a comprehensive interactive Visual Factory Portal™, the strategic shop floor portal for assembly process visualization, Zero Defect and Total Quality, Zero Tolerance and Total Performance, comprehensive product documentation and full traceability, dynamic change introduction and e-Kaizen, e-Kanban and e-Andon, and many other optional interactive functions.

All interactive applications are fully integrated into the visual instruction and ‘point & click’ based for extremely fast action and control. They are workflow connected to constraint-based pro-active monitoring applications and manufacturing portals, and they build the source for a transparent plant with zero defect-zero tolerance manufacturing & supply operations.

During the assembly process any engineering change is introduced and highlighted, with so-called ‘BlueLining’, the Visual Change Introduction. Product quality checklists and metrics are being entered on the fly, quality parameters can be read from test equipment and integrated into traceability portals. Actual time, any assembly relevant information, and scanned serial and lot numbers are reported instantly, enabling manufacturing operations to create comprehensive product, quality & traceability automatically in the background, without additional efforts. Red and green alert signals provide information about correct material usage, and through-put is reported by operation with a single click, updating performance portals, product information and progress are monitored, enabling responsible personnel and managers to locate specific products and customer orders. Actual or potential machine & equipment issues as well as material supply issues or shortages can be reported in a fraction of a second, initiating real-time information flow to the responsible departments.

And certainly any quality issue of assemblies or materials can be reported within a fraction of a second using simple 'point & click'. All quality issue and First Passed Yield information automatically flows to pro-active early warning portals, real-time, even to suppliers.
